In Discover Magazine This Month: Lawnmower Man

It was Mary Leakey who discovered Paranthropus boisei, an evolutionary cousin of ours that went extinct some 1.5 million years ago. Because of his strong jaws and facial musculature, he has long been called Nutcracker Man. New research shows he was a grazer.
